● As Per Official Schedule — From 08 Oct 2026
Short Information: The exam will be held on 25 Oct 2026 (Sunday).
The LASET admit card 2026 is the hall ticket for the Ladakh (LASET) test, JKSET/LASET-2026, conducted by the University of Kashmir as the Nodal SET Agency. Downloading of the admit card through the official websites starts from 08.10.2026, as per the schedule in the official notification, through www.kashmiruniversity.net and www.set.uok.edu.in. Candidates appearing for the Ladakh (LASET) test should download their hall ticket from the official websites and check the centre allotted to them on it, because the admit card shows the centre actually allotted to you. The exam will be held on 25 Oct 2026 (Sunday).
LASET is an eligibility test. It determines eligibility for appointment as Assistant Professor in Universities/Colleges of the Union Territory of Ladakh, and qualifiers are also eligible for Ph.D. admission. It is NOT a job recruitment — there are no posts, vacancies or salary attached to it.
The LASET 2026 exam is an offline (OMR), single-day test in 41 subjects (General Paper + Subject Papers). Paper I, common for all candidates and covering teaching / research aptitude, carries 50 questions of 2 marks each — 100 marks — from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Paper II, the subject-specific paper, carries 100 questions of 2 marks each — 200 marks — from 12:50 PM to 2:50 PM. There is a 20-minute pause between the two papers for collection/distribution, and there is no negative marking. A candidate must appear in both papers: absence in Paper I bars the candidate from Paper II.
Qualifying marks are 40% aggregate (both papers together) for Unreserved / EWS-General candidates, and 35% for reserved categories. Total qualifying slots are 6% of the candidates appearing in both papers. The Ladakh Centre (Code 03) has the proposed sub-centre cities of Leh and Kargil. A sub-centre is allotted only if more than 250 candidates opt for that sub-centre; a sub-centre with fewer than 250 candidates is merged with the nearest sub-centre. Do not assume a particular centre — your admit card shows the centre actually allotted to you. No venue addresses within Leh or Kargil are given in the notification, so the hall ticket itself is the source to check for your LASET exam centre in Leh or Kargil.
To download the LASET admit card 2026, visit one of the official websites — www.set.uok.edu.in or www.kashmiruniversity.net — look for the JKSET/LASET-2026 admit card link on the official website, and follow the instructions given on the official website to access your admit card. Check every detail on the admit card — your name, roll number and the centre allotted to you — because your admit card carries your personal and exam details. After downloading it, take a clear printout on A4 paper and keep it safe for exam day. On the exam day, carry the printed admit card and a valid original photo ID — PAN, Aadhaar, Passport, Driving Licence or Voter Card — for verification, and follow the instructions printed on your admit card. If there is a mistake on your LASET admit card, contact the SET Agency at the contact given in the official notification (jkset@uok.edu.in) and follow the instructions issued by the Agency; do not rely on unofficial pages for corrections.
Eligibility for the test was a Master’s Degree (or equivalent) with at least 55% marks (without rounding off), or an equivalent grade, from a University/Institution recognised by the UGC, in Sciences, Humanities (including Languages) or Social Sciences. The requirement was 50% for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) / SC / ST / PwD / Third Gender candidates. Ph.D. holders whose Master’s was completed on or before 19 Sep 1991 get a 5% relaxation (55% → 50%). Candidates appearing in the qualifying Master’s could apply with a Bonafide Certificate and must complete the degree with the prescribed marks within 2 years of result declaration. Candidates ordinarily appear in the subject of their Post-Graduation.
The application fee, as per the official notification, was Rs 1,200 without late fee and Rs 1,800 with late fee for the Unreserved category; Rs 900 and Rs 1,500 for RBA / ALC-IB / OBC / EWS; and Rs 700 and Rs 1,300 for SC / ST (I & II) / Transgender / PwD with 40% disability. RBA means Resident of Backward Area and ALC-IB means Actual Line of Control / International Border. Service/processing charges & GST, if any, were over and above the fee. The application window is closed: the original last dates were 20 Aug 2026 (without late fee) and 25 Aug 2026 (with late fee), and Extension notice No. F(Exten/JKSET/LASET-26) dated 20.08.2026 revised them to 25 Aug 2026 without late fee and 30 Aug 2026 with late fee. No applications are being accepted now.
The provisional answer key will be displayed on www.set.uok.edu.in for challenge — the notification states the answer key is “to be announced later”. The challenge fee is Rs 200 per key (non-refundable), and keys are displayed for about 2–3 days. The SET certificate validity is “forever”. A qualifier may apply for Assistant Professor only in universities/colleges/institutes in the UT from where they cleared the SET. LASET follows the UT Ladakh reservation policy (SO 77, 27.06.2025).
