There are 22 posts in total. ISRO IPRC eligibility depends on the post. For Technical Assistant, a First-class Diploma in the relevant branch is needed — Automobile Engineering, Mechanical, Production Engineering, Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Electronics & Telecommunication or Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering. For Technician ‘B’, SSLC / SSC / Matric / 10th pass plus ITI (NTC from NCVT or NAC from NCVT) in the relevant trade is needed — Turner, Fitter, Welder, Machinist, Mechanic Refrigeration & AC or Electrician. For Cook ‘A’, 10th pass plus 5 years of experience as a Cook in a well-established Hotel / Canteen is needed, and the experience certificate must come from the Hotel / Canteen, since individual certificates are not accepted. For Fireman ‘A’, 10th pass plus the prescribed Physical Fitness Standards plus a Preliminary Medical Examination certificate (Annexure A) is needed — the certificate is uploaded with the online application and submitted at the time of the Skill Test. So a 10th pass candidate can apply for Technician ‘B’, Cook ‘A’ and Fireman ‘A’, with the trade, experience or fitness condition of that post.

The ISRO IPRC age limit is counted as on 05.10.2026. Posts 60–68 and 70 (Technical Assistant, Technician ‘B’, Cook) have an age limit of 18–35 years, while Post 71 (Fireman ‘A’) has an age limit of 18–25 years. Relaxation is SC / ST 5 years and OBC 3 years where the post is reserved for OBC; serving Government employees, Ex-Servicemen, PwBD candidates, widows / divorced / judicially separated (not remarried) women and meritorious sportspersons get relaxation as per Government of India orders.

The ISRO IPRC fee is Rs 750 for Technical Assistant (Posts 60–62) and Rs 500 for Technician ‘B’ / Cook / Fireman, paid online through the SBI e-Payment gateway — Internet Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card or UPI. On appearing in the Written Test, Female / SC / ST / Ex-Servicemen / PwBD candidates get a full fee refund, while other candidates get Rs 500 refunded in Technical Assistant and Rs 400 refunded in Technician / Cook / Fireman — so the net fee is Rs 0 for the exempt categories, Rs 250 for other Technical Assistant candidates and Rs 100 for other Technician / Cook / Fireman candidates.

The ISRO IPRC selection process starts with a Written Test (offline OMR), with exam centres at Tirunelveli and Chennai, followed by a curriculum-based Skill Test that is GO / NO-GO and qualifying only. For Fireman ‘A’, there is also a Physical Efficiency Test and a Detailed Medical Examination. Final selection is based on Written Test scores. The ISRO IPRC pay scale under the 7th CPC is Level-7, Rs 44,900 – 1,42,400 for Technical Assistant; Level-3, Rs 21,700 – 69,100 for Technician ‘B’; and Level-2, Rs 19,900 – 63,200 for Cook ‘A’ / Fireman ‘A’ — along with DA, HRA, TA and benefits like NPS, CHSS medical, canteen, transport, LTC and HBA.
