The Local Self Government Department, Rajasthan has invited online applications for Safai Karamchari (Samvida) under Advt No. 01/2026. The recruitment covers 24,752 posts across 183 urban local bodies in Rajasthan. Online applications started on 15 August 2026, and the last date to apply online is 28 October 2026. The fee payment last date is also 28 October 2026. Candidates who are still waiting should not leave the form for the final day, because the same date closes both the application and the fee payment.

This is a contractual (samvida) recruitment. Selected candidates will receive an honorarium of ₹7,410 per month, as fixed per the Labour Department notification dated 13.12.2024. The scale of the recruitment is what makes it stand out: 24,752 posts in a single advertisement, spread across 183 ULBs, so applicants get to choose one urban local body to apply for.

Of the total 24,752 posts, 24,277 posts are in the Non-TSP area, covering 174 ULBs, and 475 posts are in the TSP area, covering 9 ULBs. ULB-wise and category-wise vacancy details are available on the department website, and reservation applies as per rules. One rule needs special attention: a candidate can apply to only one of the 183 ULBs, and applying to more than one ULB cancels all applications. So before filling the form, decide carefully which single ULB you want to apply for, and check its vacancy position on the department website.

The eligibility conditions are simple, and that is why this recruitment attracts so many applicants. The candidate must be a domicile (mool niwasi) of Rajasthan. No educational qualification is prescribed for this post, so there is no minimum schooling requirement to check. What is required instead is work experience: one year of sanitation-work experience in any urban local body of Rajasthan, counted as continuous or combined periods.

The experience certificate must be in the prescribed format, issued by the ULB after 01.08.2026 and before the last application date. A certificate issued before 01.08.2026, or one that reaches the candidate after the last date, will not meet this condition, so applicants should check the issue date on their certificate before applying. The age limit is 21 to 40 years as on 01 January 2027, with relaxation as per the Rajasthan Contractual Hiring Rules, 2022.

The fee for this recruitment is a One-Time Registration (OTR) fee only. General / Unreserved candidates pay ₹600, and Reserved Category / Divyangjan candidates pay ₹400. Candidates who have already paid the OTR fee need not pay again, and there is no separate per-application fee. The fee can be paid online through debit card, credit card, internet banking, IMPS, cash card or mobile wallet, and the last date for fee payment is 28 October 2026, the same as the last date for the application itself.

There is no exam and no interview in this recruitment. Selection is through a lottery process conducted through software developed or recommended by the Department of Information Technology & Communication (DoIT&C), Government of Rajasthan, and the lottery is held ULB-wise from the eligible applicants for the advertised posts of that ULB.

The lottery follows a clear priority order. First, candidates with one year of sanitation-work experience of the same ULB are included in the lottery. If posts remain vacant, candidates with one year of experience of another ULB of the same district are included. If posts still remain vacant, candidates with one year of experience of any ULB of the district are included. This priority order is why the choice of ULB matters: experience of the same ULB you apply for puts you in the first group. The selection process is laid down in Section 11 of the official notification, Advt No. 01/2026.
