Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), Ministry of Railways has released a notification on its official website for the recruitment of Isolated Categories — Chief Law Assistant, Public Prosecutor, Senior Publicity Inspector, Junior Translator (Hindi), Staff and Welfare Inspector, Scientific Assistant (Training), Lab Assistant Gr. III. This recruitment is for 191 positions. RRB Application Form will start on 05 November 2026 & candidates can apply until 04 December 2026 (11:59 PM). The RRB Isolated Categories Recruitment 2026 has opened — the Railway Recruitment Boards are inviting online applications for 191 Isolated Categories posts under Centralised Employment Notice (CEN) No. 09/2026. The recruitment covers seven posts — Chief Law Assistant, Public Prosecutor, Senior Publicity Inspector, Junior Translator (Hindi), Staff and Welfare Inspector, Scientific Assistant (Training) and Lab Assistant Grade III (Chemist & Metallurgist) — across the railway zones, with the zone-wise breakup given in Annexure B of the notification. The online application window opened on 5 November 2026 and closes on 4 December 2026.
The application fee is ₹500 for most candidates and ₹250 for SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, PwBD, female, transgender, minority and EBC candidates. The fee is refunded to candidates who appear in the computer based test — ₹400 out of ₹500, and the full ₹250 for the concessional categories. Candidates can correct their submitted applications between 7 and 16 December 2026. The date of the computer based test has not been announced yet.
Eligibility varies by post, from 12th Science for Lab Assistant to a Master’s degree for Junior Translator and Scientific Assistant, and a Law degree with Bar practice for the law posts. The age limit is counted as on 1 January 2027, with the usual relaxations for SC, ST, OBC-NCL and PwBD candidates. Candidates should read the detailed notification on the RRB website and apply only through rrbapply.gov.in before the last date.

₹400 of the ₹500 fee is refunded to candidates who appear in the CBT; the ₹250 fee is fully refunded on appearing in the CBT.

- Chief Law Assistant: Degree in Law + 3 years of practice at the Bar. Age 18–40 years. Pay Level 7 (₹44,900).
- Public Prosecutor: LLB + 5 years as an advocate. Age 18–32 years. Pay Level 7 (₹44,900).
- Senior Publicity Inspector: Degree + Diploma in Public Relations / Advertising / Journalism / Mass Communication. Age 18–33 years. Pay Level 6 (₹35,400).
- Junior Translator (Hindi): Master’s degree in Hindi / English + Diploma / Certificate in Translation or 2 years of translation experience. Age 18–33 years. Pay Level 6.
- Staff and Welfare Inspector: Graduation + Diploma in Labour Welfare / Social Welfare / LLB / PGDM / MBA (HR). Age 18–33 years. Pay Level 6.
- Scientific Assistant (Training): Master’s degree in Psychology with 50% marks. Age 18–35 years. Pay Level 6.
- Lab Assistant Grade III (Chemist & Metallurgist): 12th (Science) with Physics and Chemistry. Age 18–30 years. Pay Level 2 (₹19,900).
