The Bihar Technical Service Commission (BTSC) has released the BTSC Fishery Extension Officer Recruitment 2026 notification for the post of Fishery Extension Officer (Matsya Prasar Padadhikari) under Advt No. 28/2026. A total of 231 posts are available, and candidates can fill the BTSC FEO online form on the official website, btsc.bihar.gov.in. The online application started on 24 September 2026, and the BTSC FEO last date is 23 October 2026. The last date for fee payment is also 23 October 2026. Candidates planning to apply for the BTSC Fishery Extension Officer Recruitment 2026 should check the complete details — dates, fee, age limit, vacancy, eligibility and selection process — given below, and confirm the details from the official notification.
The BTSC FEO eligibility is a 4-year B.Sc. in Fisheries Science from a Fisheries College under a State Agricultural University recognised by ICAR, New Delhi. The BTSC FEO pay scale is Pay Level-7 as per the official notification, and the exact pay details should be checked in the notification. For the BTSC FEO age limit, the age is counted as on 01.08.2026: the minimum age is 21 years, the maximum age for the Unreserved category is 37 years, the maximum age for UR (Female) is 40 years, the maximum age for BC / EBC (Male & Female) is 40 years, and the maximum age for SC / ST (Male & Female) is 42 years. Relaxation is available: Divyang candidates get +10 years, and government servants with 3 years continuous service get +5 years, with other conditions as per rules. There is also a special note: candidates who were within the maximum age limit at any point from 01.08.2020 to 01.08.2026 are also eligible, provided they meet all other eligibility conditions.
The BTSC FEO vacancy 2026 is divided category-wise: Unreserved (UR) 96 posts, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) 23 posts, Scheduled Caste (SC) 35 posts, Scheduled Tribe (ST) 02 posts, Extremely Backward Classes (EBC) 41 posts, Backward Classes (BC) 27 posts and BC Women 07 posts, taking the total to 231 posts. Within this total, women seats under 35% horizontal reservation are 77 — UR 34, EWS 08, SC 12, ST 00, EBC 14 and BC 09. Divyang seats are VH-03, HH-02, OH-02 and MH-02, and 04 seats are for Freedom Fighter candidates. Vacancies may change if further requisition or directions are received by the last date, so candidates should check the category-wise BTSC FEO vacancy details before applying.
The BTSC FEO selection process is based on a total of 100 marks: CBT 75 + Experience up to 25. In the BTSC FEO exam pattern, the CBT has 100 MCQs in Hindi and English, a duration of 2 hours, and 100 marks. The syllabus is as supplied by the requisitioning department and published separately on the Commission website. There is negative marking of 0.25 per wrong answer, normalisation applies if there are multiple shifts, and the Score Card is issued after normalisation. The minimum qualifying mark in the CBT is 30%, and qualified candidates are called for Document Verification category-wise. Experience marks are only for qualified candidates, for contractual work on an equivalent post in Bihar Government or Bihar-based non-government institutions (Central Government, Panchayat, Nagar Nikay, etc.), up to a maximum of 25, with per-year plus proportional credit for part of a year, counted only up to 23.10.2026. An NOC and experience certificate from the competent authority are required. The merit list is prepared on the total (scaled CBT + experience), and the tie-break order is higher CBT marks, then higher experience marks, then older date of birth, then Hindi alphabetical order of name. The BTSC FEO exam date, admit card and result date are Notify Soon.
To fill the BTSC FEO online form, visit the official website of BTSC at btsc.bihar.gov.in, open the Fishery Extension Officer — Advt No. 28/2026 advertisement, register or login, and fill the application form carefully with correct details. Then upload photo, signature and required documents as per instructions, pay the application fee of Rs 100 through the prescribed online mode, and submit the form and take a printout of the final application for future reference. Many candidates also search for the difference between BTSC FEO vs TVO: the FEO post (Advt 28/2026, 231 posts) needs a 4-year B.Sc. Fisheries Science from an ICAR-recognised institution and carries Pay Level-7, while the TVO post (Advt 27/2026, 787 posts) needs B.V.Sc. & A.H. plus permanent registration with the Bihar Veterinary Council and carries Pay Level-9 (Rs 53,100 – 1,67,800). In both recruitments, the selection is on CBT (75) + Experience (25) = 100 marks. The application fee for the BTSC Fishery Extension Officer Recruitment 2026 is only Rs 100 for all candidates, with bank charges extra, and the payment can be made online through Debit Card, Credit Card, Internet Banking or UPI.
