NTA Subject Matter Experts Empanelment 2026 — Corrigendum: Applications on Continuous Basis
NTA — National Testing Agency (NTA)
NTA has issued a corrigendum dated 07 November 2026 to its Expression of Interest for empanelment of Subject Matter Experts. Applications are now accepted on a continuous basis, with no closing date, until further notice. A new Clause 7.4 requires applicants to upload 10 original, unpublished MCQs with answer keys and submit a Declaration of Originality and Ownership of Sample Questions.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will now accept applications for empanelment of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) on a continuous basis, through a corrigendum issued on 07 November 2026. There is no closing date — experts may apply online through the NTA portal until further notice, and applications will be evaluated periodically as and when required by NTA. The corrigendum updates the Expression of Interest (EoI) of 10 August 2026, with a revised EoI attached.
The big change is a new Clause 7.4: applicants must upload 10 original, unpublished multiple-choice questions (MCQs) in their subject domain, with answer keys, plus a Declaration of Originality and Ownership of Sample Questions (Annexure-I, Section M). The notice gives two different exemption wordings — the cover page exempts applications submitted before the corrigendum date (7 November 2026), while Clause 7.4 exempts those submitted before 28 October 2026. Applicants need a Master’s degree with at least 60 percent marks (55 percent for SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS and PwBD candidates) and at least 8 years of post-qualification teaching, research or professional experience. Experts may apply for up to three of the 15 listed subject domains.
Selection runs in four stages — preliminary screening, desk review, interaction or interview if required, and empanelment. Empanelment is valid for three years, subject to satisfactory performance and continued integrity. No application fee is mentioned in the notice; honorarium is paid per item at rates prevailing at the time of assignment. Applying does not guarantee empanelment or allocation of assignments.
